Outriggers
Scaffold Outriggers
Outriggers are used to widen the base of the scaffolding in order to meet the OSHA requirements. Normally OSHA requires the height to base ratio which is normally4:1, but maybe more stringent in some areas (Check your local code) . Out riggers are support extensions attached to the base of a scaffolding frame that widen its footprint to increase stability. They are used to prevent the scaffold from tipping, especially when working with narrow towers, adding side brackets, or working in windy conditions. By expanding the base, outriggers allow a scaffold to be built taller before it needs to be tied to a structure,
